There is an evolving amorality among America's so called conservative talk show hosts with its roots in the oldest traditions of American culture - fornication. Note how many so called conservatives now use the term "partner" to refer to the person one shares their bed with instead of the term wife or husband. The fact is, the woman that a man shares his bed with is either a wife, or a whore, or both, and the man that a woman shares her bed with is either a husband, or a fornicator, or both.
The problem with discussing anything today is that political correctness is now confused with politeness and this politeness has even taken over in the churches. You will not find one church in America that preaches from the Bible concerning marriage. I'll give a simple example:
Exodus 22:16,17 And if a man entice a maid that is not betrothed, and lie with her, he shall surely endow her to be his wife. If her father utterly refuse to give her unto him, he shall pay money according to the dowry of virgins.
Before the 1960s it was common for a woman to expect the man who impregnated her to marry her and he usually did. In fact, prior to the 1960s the one thing that half of the brides had in common on their wedding day was that they were pregnant. A shotgun wedding was expected if a man took a woman's virginity. Today, young people are asked to delay marriage to such an age that the odds that they can possibly maintain self control are virtually zero. "True Love Waits" but how long? On the one hand we want our daughters and sons to remain virgins till marriage and on the other hand we want them to go to college. The two are mutually exclusive, or are they?
Here are some steps we can take to make that may help. First, we must face the reality that the age at which we expect our children to marry is far too old. There was a time when parents understood that marriage by age 18 for women and 21 for men was about as much as they could expect. Those ages weren't so much set as minimums but as guide posts.
Now how do we make sure that our sons and daughters receive a higher education and still complete the educational level that they are capable of? First, we accelerate their education so that they can complete their high school degree by the age of 14. There are many free online highschools today. Second, we have them take their college online so that by the time they're 18 years old they will have already received their undergraduate degree. And finally, we consider the possibility of giving them that rental home that we used to pay for their college education as both a wedding and graduation gift.
